I lost four babies, one of them at 16 weeks. I decided to rent a fetal heart monitor online for my last two pregnancies (which thankfully were full-term healthy children). It was very reassuring for me. The one I rented and really liked was Babybeat. They make it very easy and convenient to receive and send back. It worked great and was easy to use. You can even tape the baby’s heartbeat.

The bebe sounds fetal heart monitor that one or more of the other answerers have mentioned is NOT what you are looking for. It does NOT work the same as what your doctor uses. (I know I bought one.) You are looking for a medical doppler. There really isn’t any one name brand Doppler that is better than the others. I believe they all work just about the same. Here are some sites that rent them and you can choose for your self what you want to pay:http://www.babybeat.com/fetal-dopplers.h…http://www.dynamicdoppler.com/ProductCar…http://www.cascadedopplers.com/category….
Edit:
I just saw from your “about me” section that you live in Arkansas. I do too and here is a site for an independently owned place for you to get ultrasound pictures done in regular 2-D, 3-D & 4-D:http://babyviews.com/
simple is usually the best answer, here’s a link:http://www.asseenontvandmore.com/bdelbab…
