Worried My Workout Harmed Baby! Advice Please!?
I am just under 9 weeks pregnant. Last night I did a 30 minute cardio workout. 15 mins on a treadmill at a fast walk & 15 mins. on a elyptical. The elyptical had a heart monitor & my heart rate was at 175! I did this for 15 minutes with my heart rate fluctuating never going above 175 & sometimes under. Granted my heart was beating fast I wasn’t dizzy, or really sweaty, or fatigued. I drank a bottle of water throughout this workout.
Afterwards I started thinking about it (i know very stupid should have done research AHEAD of time) & I found online pregnant women should not let their heart rate get above 140 (some articles said 160) either way mine was way above that. I’m so worried I hurt the baby or caused him/her to have a heart attack.
I had no cramping, no spotting, nothing afterward…..If I harmed the baby in any way would I know by now? If I caused a miscarriage b/c of my high heart rate would it of happened by now.
I am so so so so worried & mad at myself….I am not going to workout until I am after 12 weeks & I will buy a heart rate monitor.
I just thought it would be okay b/c I see women way further along then me taking hour long spinning classes at the gym & so forth.
I did work out prior to gettting pregnant but last night was my first time since finding out Aug. 28th.
What are your opinions. Was 175 heart rate for 15 solid minutes detrimental to my baby’s life?

It doesn’t sound like you’ve done anything wrong.
I also worked out 3-5 times per week prior to getting pregnant and the moment they told me I was pregnant I stopped going. I, too, was afraid that I would do something wrong. That was a HUGE mistake because I’ve already packed on about 20-21 lbs. and I’m only 19 weeks and 5 days. I’d say keep your workouts simple. They will tell you that if you worked out before getting pregnant you can continue, but use common sense. If you start to feel sluggish and fatique take a break.
I don’t think it harmed your baby. You should really talk to you doctor about your workout and get they ok from them.
See your doctor if you’re really worried. I went for a really hard hike before I knew I was pregnant, i got quite hot and pushed myself really hard. Once I found out I was pregnant i was a bit worried but my baby was fine.
Don’t worry! Some women even run marathons during their pregnancy, your baby is fine!!
God created your body so that it would protect the life growing inside it, it would take a lot to mess that up.
Your baby is safe and sound
Sounds ok to me,
Check with your doctor though, but normally they will tell you if you were exercising before pregnancy it is fine to continue, but not to start if your body wasn’t already use to it. also, when I over did it when o was pregnant i knew because I’d have cramping and dizziness, so I think your ok, do check w/ Doctor though.
im Active Duty Army, an MP.. and i didnt PT til i was like 20 wks,.. i still ran 4 miles every wednesday and i did alot of bike… so i think your ok… my heartrate was probably usually around 125-140… so i mean the doctors told me i was ok, so im guessing u will be too… im 37 wks now…
