Girl calm down and stop panicing. Yes, you do get Cranberry juice over here. I answerd you already. Go to Carrefour and Organics.
Stop taking just any antibiotics! Especially while you are in your early pregnancy.
Go to the NMC (I sent you the adress) and have checked out first what caused the infection. Then the doc will give you the proper medication. By taking just any antibiotics you just risk that you will get immune and the following treatment will last longer. That happened to me, coz I was so stupid, too.
Here you will get anything over the counter and that can be dangerous.
If pain should get to much, go to any goverment hospital as an emergency case and receive treatment for free!
If you want you can email me any time for assistance.
I
Take care!
Why have you had the UTI for three weeks?? That’s alarming. I’m glad you’re on antibiotics, but you either got on them very late, or they aren’t working for you, and you need to see a doctor again. Just keep it up with lots of any and all noncaffenated fluids, (the cranberry juice will only help so much, it will help more effectively if you drink a small amount every day to PREVENT UTI’s, rather than to treat them). Take the full amount of antibiotics- I saw your other question saying you’ve been through two cycles of antibiotics- this medicine is obvioulsy not working for you, and you need a different kind. Make sure you get one that’s safe during pregnancy- there are many, but you have to be sure that it’s safe, especially at this point in your pregnancy. It sounds like you need to talk to your doctor again ASAP… good luck~
go to your doctor and get the medication for it, because uti cause m/c, and you will need to take care of this the sooner the better, take it from some one who went through it.
Consult with your OB-Gyne. Simple cases of UTIs (esp in a pregnant woman) should not last for 3 weeks. You may need a stronger antibiotic rather than the one you are taking now. Watch out for cramping, bleeding/spotting…
See if you can get cranberry pills fromt he drugstore also see if the drugstore carries uristat, it will make you more comfortable but it will turn your pee orange, talk to a doc first.
OUCH ! UTI’s are very painful, but you are on the right track, the antibiotics will take care if the infection and you are wiping correctly. A doctor may tell people with UTIs to avoid sexual intercourse for a week or so, which allows the inflammation to disappear completely.
Frequent bubble baths can cause irritation of the vaginal area, so girls should take showers or plain baths. Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture in the genital area by not wearing nylon underwear or wet swimsuits. Wearing underwear with cotton crotches is also helpful. And girls should skip using feminine hygiene sprays or douches — these products can irritate the urethra.
If you are sexually active, go to the bathroom both before and within 15 minutes after intercourse. After sex, gently wash the genital area to remove any bacteria. Avoid sexual positions that irritate or hurt the urethra or bladder. For girls who use lubrication during sex, use a water-soluble lubricant such as K-Y Jelly.
Uristat will help relieve the itchiness and yes it does turn your urine orange.
The UTI will not do anything to your baby but the antibiotics could so I hope you had them prescribed by a doctor who knew of your condition, if not stop taking them until you see your ob/gyn !!!
Wash your hand before and after using the restroom. Make sure to wear cotton panties so you can breather down there. Continue to drink plenty of water and please see your docotr again as 3 weeks is way to long to be having this still on antibiotics.
you should talk to your DR about this.
