When is a baby ready to use a walker for fun?

My baby is 4 months old and her head is pretty steady. She is always trying to sit up. She sits up perfectly straight and jumps around in her jumperoo. Wondering how early people have put their babies in and how it worked out.

when she can hold her own weight just fine. 5- 6 months were mine.
I wouldn’t put my child in a walker they are very bad for their bone structure and very dangerousa baby is not supposed to walk around until the baby is able to wakl on their own they are banned in canada due to the damage they caused to baby’s bones and muscles. I would research this first. But I think they are old enough to go in one at 5 months so she may be ready if you want to. I think an exersaucer would be fine.
I put my little boy in one when he was 5 months just for 5 minutes at a time to begin with and although he couldn’t touch the floor properly i put a couple of pillows under his feet instead and he actually moved it the first time although it was a fluke because he didn’t do it for a while after that.
I asked this same question a while ago and people told me not to use one as there have been accidents with them falling down stairs etc and someone said to me that it is your responsibility as a parent to watch your kids and the question should not be are the walkers safe, but where the hell were the parents at the time when a baby has fallen down the stairs in one! I can accept that accidents do happen but leaving a baby unattended near stairs is just plain stupid.
Go with your instincts, personally i wouldn’t use one at 4 months but when she is 5 months try it out for a few minutes, she will soon show if she is ready or not, good luck!
Your baby may be a bit too young. I remember trying my middle child in a walker at that age but because of her size she would wobble alot in the seat. I had to roll up a blanket and put it in the seat to help keep her steady.
If by walker you mean the kind the baby sits in and pushes herself around… I would think twice about using it at all. Too many accidents have happened with babies, walkers and stairs. I also read it is detrimental to their walking, as they push with their hips. A johnny jumper works just fine. A saucer is a great addition too!
I think i waited until my son was around 6 months and he was really forward too, but i didn’t want him to have all his weight on his feet too young, so i would probably wait until around 6 months or so
The American Pediatrics say that walkers should not be used. They are undafe, too many babies have gotten injured severely using them. Keep on using the jumperoo! Those are great for a while longer. You can also invest in an exersaucer. THey have toys around them and they can move themselves around in it. You could also get one of those bungee type bouncers that you hang from a doorway. My 6 month old really gets the "walking" sensation when she is using that.
Bottom line… do not use a walker. Even though they still sell them, they are not safe.
My baby is 4 months 3 weeks and she does the same as yours. We got her a walker and she loves it you just have to make sure the walker has a low enough setting so her feet can touch the ground
